Our Partnership with B1G1

At every step of the way we make sure that our products - and the people who make them are 100% sustainable and well-cared for. And there's more. Because of our work with B1G1 , we are able to bring back value to the origin of our supply chain – to African ecosystems and people. With every product sold we are supporting The Mango Tree Orphan Support Trust to either plant a forest tree or provide a family with a mango tree. This helps the local ecosystems to recreate and to foster African women in providing for their families and gaining in self-determination.

Planting a forest tree

The project area has experienced environmental degradation as people cut trees for charcoal and firewood, harvest sand to sell leaving big sand mines and necked hills and villages with no trees. This all happens due to extreme poverty. The Organisation The Mango Tree Orphan Support Trust has focused in reversing this by encouraging the planting of new forest trees , in addition to income generating fruit trees. This has sustainably changed the situation with our continuous support.

Generating income by planting a grafted mango tree

Our engagement promotes the sustainable development goals from B1G1. With every Organix product we plant a tree in Africa. But that is not all. True to our philosophy “By mums for mums”, we pay particular attention to empowering and encouraging mothers and women in Africa. And we are not just planting any Mango Tree. Our partners have cleverly grafted local mangos with exotic mangos, resulting in bigger fruits, providing them with a bigger income. By giving just one mango to a woman means that she can escape being forced to endure dangerous or inhuman work and instead, create a sustainable and safe income. From that Mango tree she can plant its seeds, resulting in a sustainable income that will last her and her family for several years.
